Dear Member-countries, On behalf of the Dance Sport Executive Board and the organisers of this year's World Dance Sport Championships - Professional BALLROOM Division, 2nd October 2010 in Canada, I would like to inform you that the new rule that has been adopted at this year's Dance Sport Committee Meeting in Blackpool, will be implemented at the above event. Please inform your couples thereof. I have copied the added rule to this email as below. If you need any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact the Dance Sport Office at any time. Kind regards, Nicole Burns-Hansen, WDC Dance Sport Office
Current Rule 1.5.4 Ballroom & Latin Rounds In the Ballroom Championships & Latin Championships the 5 dances shall be performed without interruption. Proposed addition to 1.5.4 In all Ballroom and Latin Championships one dance in each round shall be limited to the Basic Figures listed in the currently recognised Technique Books applicable to each style. The dances shall be drawn at random at the commencement of the competition by the Chairman of Adjudicators. (In a 5 round competition the Basic dance would therefore be different in each round, in a six or more round competition the order of the Basic Dances would be repeated as per the original draw.) |
